Three P’s Housing Coalition Applauds Movement of AB 1483 (Grayson) to Senate Floor;
Bill is Part of Bold 2019 Plan for Housing Production, Preservation, and Protection

Sacramento, CA — The Three P’s Coalition for Housing Production, Preservation, and Protection released the following statement after AB 1483 (Grayson) passed the Senate Appropriations Committee:

“California must eliminate barriers to housing production if we are to close the enormous gap between the state’s current housing needs and the supply, as well as to meet future growth. According to a recent study from the UC Berkeley Terner Center, development fees substantially increase the cost of production and reduce the amount of housing that gets built. The Three P’s coalition of business, labor, housing, environmental justice, local government, and other organizations supports AB 1483 (Grayson) to increase transparency and predictability of city and county fees -- tackling one hurdle in the way of needed production.”

The Three P’s coalition represents a broad and diverse set of organizations from business, labor, housing, environmental justice, local government, and other sectors who have come together to secure California’s housing future. These organizations have united behind the 2019 Plan for Housing Production, Preservation, and Protection. The bill now goes to the Senate floor, where it must pass before the September 13th deadline.
